Warrior RULES
We would like to thank you for the opportunity to coach your child. We will endeavor to provide a positive atmosphere and experience for them. While we are willing to commit our time and experience to this team, there are a few things we would like to ask the parents to understand and agree to.
- This is football. It isn't a contact sport, IT'S A COLLISION SPORT! This is nothing like soccer, baseball, basketball or any other sport. Practice is very hard and demanding.
- While football is primarily what we are coaching, we are also trying to instill lessons that these young players will use throughout their lives. Respect, integrity, self pride, and to reject the desire to give up or quit are some examples.
- Football will be taking place during the beginning of the school year. Grades and school work come before football. All players are expected to maintain at least a minimum of a "C" average.
- In the summer, practice will be hot. Help keep your child hydrated prior to coming to practice. Have your child drink a minimum of 2 quarts of water the day before practice. Avoid all carbonated drinks and soda.
- Our team will be disciplined. Disruptive practice, arguing, fighting, foul language, or intentionally disruptions with other players will not be tolerated and dealt with accordingly.
- The coaches on the team are NYSCA licensed. During practice or games ONLY the coaches are to instruct the team or discuss issues with opposing coaches or officials.
- The kids look up to their parents. If parents are arguing and shouting at the referees, or the other team, they will see this as acceptable. This is not. DO NOT yell at the officials or the other team. Sometimes bad calls are made, this is part of the game since nobody is perfect. We have NEVER seen an official reverse a decision on a call. However, we have seen an official start to make calls against our team. Don't penalize our team because you disagree with a call.
- Attendance at practice is an expectation. If your child missed practice on a regular basis, expect them to see little playing time during the game. It doesn't matter if your child is the All-Star of the league, if he/she doesn't practice, they don't play. If your child is sick or must miss practice, CALL one of the coaches below. No call, no show means an unexcused absence. This will result in restricted playing time in the games.
- No kid can start every game and play every down of games. There are a lot of kids on the team and only 11 can be on the field at once. Understand and accept this. Your child will be sitting on the bench at some point.
- ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE TO BE EATEN OR GIVEN TO PLAYERS during practice or games. The coaches know and respect a child's needs for nutrition and hydration and will do what's necessary. When practice and games are over do whatever you want.
- Understand that everyone wants to win. However, the coaches will preach to your child to be a player on a winning team. We strive to win but our main goal is for every child on the team to finish the year and a noticeable improvement within every aspect of the game and to understand the basic fundamentals of the game of football and teamwork.
- Players are expected to come to practice ready for football. Coaches do not want to be dressing your player. Uniforms shirts are to be tucked in. A TEAM THAT LOOKS AND PRACTICES SQUARED AWAY WILL PLAY SQUARED AWAY.
- Coaches will be referred to as Coach ??????. This rule is for players, not parents.
- NO PARENTS are allowed on the practice or playing field. If there is a reason for you to be with your player during this time the coaches will ask you. Keep in mind that we are considerate and realize there are exceptions to this rule. However, it will be strictly enforced.
- Coaches are volunteers of this organization. We will not disrespect you and you will not disrespect us. If you have an issue with one of us, please come talk to us.
We are always available and receptive to your comments. Please feel free to contact any of us with comments, concerns, or suggestions.

These rules and policies are handed to every player when they sign up for football. You, the parent, are expected to respect these rules.
Thank you again for allowing us the privilege of coaching your child. We look forward to a successful and safe season!
